This news is another ray of hope in the worrisome environment of economic instability that more than fifteen new development projects will be signed between the two countries in Beijing this week under the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor agreement. In this regard, the third Belt and Road Initiative Forum will be held on October 17 and 18, in which Caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar is going to China on a special invitation. The new projects also include eleven schemes in infrastructure, energy and other sectors.
Various ministries and the Chinese embassy have completed the
work on the working papers of these projects. Accordingly, under the ML1
project, Pakistan's 1733 km railway line from Karachi to Peshawar will also be
upgraded and a new track will be laid to increase the train speed to 160 km per
hour. It is very encouraging that despite various obstacles under the
CPEC, 31 projects have been completed so far on which China has invested 32
billion dollars while four industrial zones have been established in the
country for this purpose. Among them, cooperation is being promoted in the
fields of agriculture, science and technology, IT and minerals. Despite
challenges such as security concerns, political instability and the Covid-19
pandemic that have arisen since 2013, this development is a major
achievement. CPEC is a new concept in which the countries of the region
are taking keen interest.

Its implementation will open the way for economic cooperation
between the countries of the East and the West. America and India are
therefore opposing it, but in view of the effectiveness of the project, it is
impossible to stop this development program by their opposition. CPEC
plays a major role in the economic development of Pakistan.
