On the night of May 6-7, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked not Pakistan but itself. Immediately after the attack, the Indian government claimed in a statement that it had attacked terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir. In 2019, Modi’s government also attacked a hill station in Balakot and claimed that a terrorist training center was destroyed. When I reached the site of the attack a few hours after this attack, there was no training center there. The same lie that India told in 2019 was told in 2025. This time too, eight innocent Pakistanis were martyred in missile attacks in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir, including children, and 35 women were among the injured. India blamed Pakistan for the attack on tourists in Pahalgam on April 22 and did not present any evidence against Pakistan.
On the night of May 6-7, India
has left a lot of evidence against itself by martyring innocent children and
women in Pakistan. Pakistan responded immediately to the attack and shot down
six Indian warplanes. Four Indian warplanes were shot down by Pakistan Air
Force Shaheens in a dogfight, while two warplanes were hit by HQ-9 missiles
fired from Pakistan’s air defense system. When daylight appeared on the morning
of May 7, the Indian media started showing the losses of its air force. Now
Narendra Modi has to take it. Pakistan not only targeted Indian warplanes but
also destroyed several Indian check posts and forts around the Line of Control.
Pakistan’s response was unexpected for Narendra Modi. He thought that he would
celebrate his victory by dropping missiles on some civilian areas, but on May
7, there was a discussion in the Indian media about how his air force suffered
so much damage in a single night. The Pakistan Air Force had proven its
superiority over the Indian Air Force in 2019 as well and now it has proven its
superiority over the Indian Air Force in 2025 as well. It is clear that the
prestige of the Indian Air Force has once again been tarnished and this is not
only the loss of the Indian Air Force but also the political loss of Narendra
Modi. Now they will try to make up for this loss. Pakistan did not initiate,
Pakistan only retaliated and now if India attacks Pakistan again, it will get a
tougher response than before. Many world leaders are advising Pakistan and
India to avoid regular war. War is not the solution to any problem but Pakistan
did not start the war.
India also started the water
aggression and India also started targeting the civilian population through
missile attacks. It is not possible for India to attack whenever it wants and
cease fire whenever it wants. Pakistan should make the cease fire conditional
on the restoration of the Indus Waters Treaty. The announcement of the
suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty was actually the beginning of the war.
The international community and the United Nations should also not ignore the
fact that after suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, India announced the closure
of the rivers of Pakistan. If India does not restore the Indus Waters Treaty,
then Pakistan should announce the suspension of the Simla Agreement. The Simla
Agreement converted the 1948 Ceasefire Line into the Line of Control.According
to international law, when two countries agree on a Line of Control in a
bilateral agreement, then it is the responsibility of both countries to defend
it, but if this Line of Control is terminated, then Kashmiris cannot be stopped
from crossing it. Kashmiris have never recognized this Line of Control. In the
past, many organizations including JKLF have announced to break this Line of
Control and Pakistan had to defend the Line of Control by using force. If the
Simla Agreement is suspended, the Line of Control will also be suspended.
Pakistan has a solid
justification for suspending the Simla Agreement. India violated the Simla
Agreement by occupying the peaks of Siachen in 1984. On August 5, 2019, India
violated the Simla Agreement once again by revoking the special status of
occupied Jammu and Kashmir. By revoking the Indus Water Treaty, India stopped
the water coming to Pakistan through the dams built in occupied Jammu and
Kashmir, which created the threat of flooding in the occupied areas. India's
water aggression has created dangers not only for Pakistan but also for the
people of occupied Kashmir. Therefore, the announcement of the suspension of
the Simla Agreement to stop this water aggression will not be called aggression
but a defensive response. We should not forget that in October 1947, the Indian
government, with the connivance of Britain, had militarily occupied Srinagar,
which resulted in a war. It was not Pakistan but India that appealed to the
United Nations to stop this war. The United Nations Security Council passed a
ceasefire resolution and declared a plebiscite as the solution to the Kashmir
issue. India refused to implement this resolution.
There was a war between India and
Pakistan over the Kashmir issue in 1965, then there was a war in 1971, then
there was the Kargil war in 1999, and now there is once again the threat of a
regular war. In this war, India is the aggressor and Pakistan is defending
itself. If Pakistan plays its cards right and maintains national unity, this
time it can bring a lot of relief for the Kashmiris and can also take revenge
for the defeat of 1971.The announcement of the suspension of the agreement will
not be called aggression but a defensive reaction. We should not forget that in
October 1947, the Indian government, in collusion with Britain, had occupied
Srinagar militarily, which resulted in a war. It was not Pakistan but India
that appealed to the United Nations to stop this war. The United Nations
Security Council passed a ceasefire resolution and declared a plebiscite as the
