A historic site in the US state of Hawaii and a center of interest for millions of tourists
How did it get destroyed and ruined by being engulfed in a terrible fire?
This is on August 8, 2023. Fifty-year-old Shane True was sleeping in his home when he was awakened by the loud banging of windows. When he regained consciousness, he realized that there was quite a strong wind blowing outside. Looking at the time, it was five o'clock in the morning. The sun was just about to rise.
He came out dressed in night clothes. Noticed that some of the solar energy generating panels on the roof have broken and fallen down due to the stormy wind. He began collecting them so that they could be re-installed. Then he heard loud firecrackers. He looked in the direction of the sounds, and saw that the wires of the pole had fallen down. Strong winds had blown them down. Now they collided and created sparks.
From storms and rains, poles often fell in every area, it was only the wires that fell. Apparently, this was a minor event, but for the people of Lahaina, it became the cause of an earthly apocalypse. They had no illusions that these sparks would give birth to such a terrible fire that would burn all the joys, colors and happiness to ashes.
Capital of a large kingdom

Lahaina is not a city of a developing or poor country, but a historical place in the world's only superpower, the US state of Hawaii. It was the capital of a great kingdom in the past. It was still a favorite center for American and European tourists. They flocked here to watch whales, swim and see the beautiful beaches. Many historical buildings were located in the town. More than twelve and a half thousand men and women were its permanent residents. When thousands of tourists arrived in the summer, Lahaina would become a small town.
In the last fifty years, it had become a settlement of Umra. Wealthy tourists had built magnificent bungalows here. During the summer holidays, they would come to Lahaina and have fun. If they could not come, they would rent out their magnificent houses. Each house was worth millions of dollars, furnished with expensive furnishings. Some people had spent most of their savings in building a house. The poor people did not know that the terrible fire would consume all their dreams and hopes as soon as they saw it.
Shane True was also a tourist. He liked this city with free atmosphere so much that he settled here. He built his house in the suburbs of Lahaina and began to live happily. In summer, he would give some part of the house to tourists. Thus he would have a good income.
The sparks he saw on the morning of August 8, they quickly set fire to the dry grass. As soon as he saw the fire, he informed the police and fire brigade. After six minutes, the workers of the two government agencies reached there and started putting out the fire. After half an hour of struggle, the fire was brought under control.
The danger became a reality
Shane True's sixth sense was warning him that something big was about to unfold today. It wasn't even that wrong. A confluence of factors made Shane's threat a reality.
The first act appeared several decades ago. What happened was that in the early nineteenth century, American and European settlers arrived in Hawaii. At that time these islands were covered with forests. They cleared the forests near the coasts and built large fish ponds there. Thus the fish oil business started.
Later, Lahaina and other places in Hawaii were cleared to make way for sugarcane fields. Several thousand square kilometers became the area of these fields. In the 20th century, when India, Pakistan, and other developing countries began exporting cheap sugar, the sugarcane fields in Hawaii fell into disrepair. Sugar factories were also closed.
Different types of grass grew in the forests that the Americans cleared. The reason is that when a forest is destroyed, it does not regenerate easily. Thus, by the early 21st century, not only the outskirts of Lahaina, but also the interior, fields of grass had appeared in places. Hardly anyone noticed that grass not only catches fire easily but also spreads very quickly.
The second process was ongoing for the last two and a half years. Lahaina is located on Maui, the second largest island in the Hawaiian Islands. The island had received very little rain for two and a half years and was suffering from drought. The dry climate had sucked all the moisture out of the grass.
The third act took place a few days before August 8. A hurricane in the Pacific Ocean began to blow strong winds in the state of Hawaii. They knocked down electric poles or wires at many places. The sparks from the wires would instantly set the dry grass on fire. However, the fire brigade personnel reached in time and extinguished the fire and it could not spread.
In Lahaina's destiny, however, it was written to be consumed. On August 8, at 2:30 in the afternoon, the fire broke out again in the dry grass due to the fall of electric wires at three or four places. As the wind was very strong, the fire spread very quickly. The fire crew made several attempts to stop it but failed.
Amazing speed of fire
Unfortunately for the people of Lahaina, the wind was blowing toward the city. This strong wind made the fire spreading in the grass and dry green like an airplane. She started running at the speed of a mile a minute towards the maddened townspeople. This speed certainly amazes the human mind.
On the one hand, the terrible firestorm was moving towards the people of Lahaina, on the other hand, most people were unaware of its arrival. Eyewitnesses say that some men and women had been cheap in the afternoon. Some were planning to swim in the sea. Others were busy eating and walking in their homes. Therefore, everyone was engrossed in their busyness and unconcerned with the calamity that befell them.
Residents living on the outskirts of the city were the first to notice the spreading fire. The smoke rising from it, the crackling of burning grass and the heat warned them. However, the fire attack was so fast and powerful that they did not get a chance to recover. Most of the people left everything and sat in their cars and left for the beach.
The fire was so terrible that it would destroy everything in its path. The people of Lahaina also have the misfortune that their houses were made of wood. So when sparks and flames rose from the crackling grass and fell on the roofs and walls of the houses, they quickly caught fire. In this way the fire was not hindered anywhere and it went on destroying everything like a monster.
Management failed miserably
It is clear that the rapid spread of the fire caught the authorities by surprise. In this world, such serious mistakes were made by the administration that the people of Lahaina had to bear the consequences. The island of Hawaii is said to have the world's best emergency siren system. It consists of several hundred sirens. But all the sirens in Lahaina were silent that day, not a single one sounded. That is why the people could not realize that a huge fire had descended on them.
"I didn't use sirens because they are only used during tsunamis," says the commander of the siren crew. If I had sounded the siren, people would have run to land, the fire, and I didn't want that.” However, the Hawaiian government did not accept this argument, so he had to resign.
Another big mistake by the management was that when the power lines started falling due to high winds, the power was not temporarily switched off for a few hours. In our Pakistan too, it is a common practice that when storms and rains come, the electricity is switched off. But Lahaina's administration remained a nightmare. When the fire had completely engulfed the town, the administration came to its senses and turned off the electricity.
Allah's warning
Most of the eyewitnesses say that when the fire came head on, they became aware of it. It was as if this natural disaster had taken the people of Lahaina by surprise, in a world of ignorance. This is the reason, hundreds of men and women lost their lives in its grip. When the fire subsided, it looked as if an atomic bomb had been dropped or a carpet bomb had been dropped on the area. Seeing the terrible destruction caused by this firestorm, Surah Al-Qaraa of the Holy Quran starts echoing in the mind:
"Rattle, what's that rattle?" And do you know what that rattle is? On the day when people will be like scattered butterflies. And the mountains will be like dyed and washed cotton. And whoever does good deeds, he will be in luxury. And whoever's deeds are reduced in weight, his abode will be Hawiyah. And do you know what it is? It is a burning fire.”
Some of the truths of the terrifying scenario depicted in this chapter are vividly seen in the videos of Lahaina that came out during the firestorm. The raging fire is attacking the humans and they are running around like butterflies. He whose deeds were heavy, he was spared, those who weighed less returned to the Lord Almighty. Allah Ta'ala, by His permission, showed the people of the earth a pattern of Hawiya, i.e. burning fire.
This blazing fire was so powerful that even the superpower with the best safety and security systems collapsed in front of it and appeared helpless. The administration was confused and did not understand what action to take. Such was the state of chaos that none of the fire warning systems could fully function. Very few people received the message notification. Similarly, contradictory statements were also issued on the websites. Therefore, the world's best security system proved to be a complete failure in the face of a natural disaster. The fire also rendered the hydrant, the water sprinkler system, ineffective.
The grass is always greener from the other side
This failure teaches an important lesson to us, the people of Pakistan, and that is that we consider the developed countries of Pakistan as heaven and the governments there are free from all mistakes and dutiful. But the heartbreaking Lahaina incident reveals that when a natural or unnatural disaster strikes, often even the best systems are unable to cope with the loss of life and property. As if the security and safety system is good and excellent, it is not an absolute guarantee of rescue. Death, when it comes, overtakes man everywhere, be it New York or Chuck 275.
Look at the example of Lahaina. There was a formal institution to deal with natural calamities. Its annual budget is one billion dollars. Then there were excellent police, fire brigade and emergency alarm systems in operation. Everyone had the internet. Therefore, there was a stable arrangement to deal with all kinds of threats. But when the raging fire appeared, no human contrivance worked and it devoured everything in its path. The limitation is that the administration could not evacuate the citizens from the town in an orderly manner and was nowhere to be seen.
A town of the rich, equipped with every luxury, full of the latest technology but its inhabitants are not aware of a natural disaster like a fire that can be seen from hundreds of miles away. When the fire reached its head, thousands of people tried to leave the area in vehicles. So there was a traffic jam. This was another calamity that befell those who saved lives.
The police could not remove this traffic jam and continued to watch the apocalypse that became a picture of helplessness. When the fire got closer, people jumped into the sea to save their lives. The sparks of the fire also burnt the boats parked on the shore. Even in the water it did not spare human life, the sparks burnt the bodies of many people.
Therefore, the Lahaina fire stunned the entire American nation and they did not understand what had happened. At the time of writing, 115 people have died in this tragedy, while between 1,000 and 1100 men and women, there is no information about what happened to them, whether they are dead or alive and in what condition. About six billion dollars were lost due to this.
Conspiracy theories
The horror of the incident has also given rise to conspiracy theories. It was claimed that this fire was started by a group of Umrah with the blessings of the government. The goal is to make Lahaina a "smart city" where the government can track every resident's movements. However, the majority of intellectuals declared this conspiracy theory baseless. It was also claimed that the US government had tested a "secret weapon" in the region.
American intellectuals are appealing to their people to stop spreading conspiracy theories because their results are usually disastrous. For example, the former US President, Donald Trump, propagated the theory that the number of non-white nations in the US is increasing and they will take over the country. So, for the past few years, white fanatics have taken up arms and killed many non-whites. Also, bigotry is growing rapidly in America.
From the heart of the Lahaina fire came one of the greatest tragedies in modern American history. The stormy fire destroyed more than 2,000 houses. Most of the town was destroyed. The remaining houses will also be habitable only after repairs. Within a few hours, the Great Fire almost wiped Lahaina off the face of the earth.
A city without people
Grassland and forest fires are occurring in many western countries. Take Yellow Knife, the capital of Canada's federal territory, the Northwest Territories. There are beautiful lakes, high mountains and forests all around. Twenty lived in Yellowknife
Thousands of men and women were living happily when suddenly a terrible natural disaster struck them from early August.
What happened was that a huge fire broke out in the wide and wide range of forests spread on its outskirts. This forest fire was so terrible that the flames started talking to the sky. Gradually the fire began to move towards Yellowknife. There was a commotion among the people of the city and everyone started fighting to save lives and property. By August 20, almost the entire city was evacuated. The residents were fortunate to have saved their lives by realizing the danger in time.
On this occasion, all the citizens appeared to be a picture of fear and helplessness. They had no idea that a seemingly ordinary forest fire would disrupt daily life. Not just Yellowknife, millions of Canadian cities and towns were affected by wildfires this year.
Arrogant Pride
Due to climate and climate changes due to global warming, grasslands and forests in many countries are becoming the target of flaming fires. This fire that was burning in many countries of North America and Europe, but this important lesson was also given to the people of wisdom and vision that man should not dare to be arrogant and disrespectful to the Lord of the Universe, so there is good in him.
The American and European rulers were so proud that they subjugated all the forces of nature. But the forest fires revealed to the world that even the biggest superpower's security system is so inefficient and useless that it could not cope with a common natural disaster. Just as the hands and feet of the Americans were swollen when they withdrew from Afghanistan in 2001, in the same way they found themselves helpless in front of the fire in the forests. Natural calamities like fire, floods, heat and storms blew away the safety and security systems of all developed countries, including the United States and Canada, which were considered very strong and stable.
Nature's "Resetting"
The fact is that for the last two and a half to three hundred years, man was playing with nature in a new way, it has now started to show its color. Climate changes, hurricanes, flash floods, extreme heat waves, droughts and terrible rains are all signs that nature is "resetting" itself. Just as a mobile phone is factory reset, it becomes new, so nature is rebuilding itself to remove the defects caused by human activities….. but in the meantime, any unexpected great event can happen. It is an event that might shake the world.
Today in every country people and properties are caught in economic, political, social and environmental problems. In some places inflation has become a burden on the common man, in some places the fight of the powerful members of the ruling class has ruined the peace of the society. For example, on August 9, Fernando Valencia, a candidate participating in the presidential election in the Central American country of Ecuador, was killed in broad daylight.
Valencia was a journalist who in his professional life exposed the corruption of corrupt generals, politicians, judges and government officials. It is believed that a powerful figure in the establishment killed him so that he could not become president and act against unscrupulous people. Do the bath.
Dramatic Great Game
Meanwhile, the dramatic "Great Game" of world powers is going on in the continent of Africa. Africa is rich in valuable natural resources. A secret and open war has broken out between Russia and China and America and Europe to dominate them. Recently, Russia and China won a major battle by bringing about a military revolution in Niger. The deposed Niger president was a supporter of the US. He was working for hidden American interests. However, the generals did not mind his being an American agent. Therefore, with the help of the Russians and Chinese, they overthrew the government of the American president. Niger's neighboring countries, Mali and Chad, have also been targeted by Western puppet rulers.
Not only the continent of Africa, the above warring superpowers are fighting each other in vast and important areas like Europe, the Arctic Ocean, the Middle East, South Asia and the Pacific Ocean. Their collision can also cause great changes in the world. The expansion of BRICS, an organization created by Russia and China, is also a link in this fight.
The rise and fall of Argentina
Rising inflation remains a major problem in many countries. Argentina is at the top of the big countries where inflation has left the common man dizzy. The inflation rate there has reached 113 percent, which is the highest after Venezuela (400 percent) and Zimbabwe (172 percent). They are followed by Sudan (72 percent) and Turkey (48 percent). The interest rate in Argentina is also 118 percent. This is the highest rate in the world after Zimbabwe (150 percent).
The case of Argentina is also strange in that it was a developed and prosperous country until the early 20th century. Then corruption and infighting among members of the ruling class made it decline. This decline is no longer leaving the soul of this South American country. Even today, half of the four and a half million population has been forced to live a life of poverty. It is an instructive story from rise to fall.
Due to the incompetence of the ruling class, mismanagement and the abundance of corruption, the people are looking for a leader with extreme economic ideas, Javier Melsi, to be the new president in the next presidential election. If this man becomes ruler, Argentina could experience a unique economic revolution.
For example, Javier wants to abolish the State Bank of Colombia so that people can use their preferred currency, especially the US dollar. He calls his central bank "the worst". He wants to privatize loss-making state-owned enterprises. Also wants to eliminate many ministries and government departments to reduce government expenditure. There are many such unique tricks hidden in the pot of Javier Melsi. This leader is like Argentina's Donald Trump, an unconventional politician whose experience has cost the American nation dearly. And he is still a headache.
The challenge faced by Watan Aziz
It is a great challenge before the people of Pakistan that how to keep their homeland safe and secure from the great changes taking place in the world. It is promising that many faces are not controversial in the federal cabinet overseeing the homeland. He has a good reputation for good deeds and good character.
Looking at the global situation and events, it is important that our powerful and intelligent circles formulate such a strategy, formulate such policies, take such measures so that Pakistan does not get caught in any big problem. I am arrested. In order to solve them, the entire nation will have to put aside all differences and unite, then rays of hope will appear in the darkness.
For example, there are two main reasons for the increase in inflation in the beloved country: increase in the prices of fuel (petrol, electricity, gas) and food items. If this increase is reduced, it will be easier to control inflation and it will benefit the people of Pakistan. For example, if Pakistan starts generating more electricity from local cheap coal, then the cost may come down considerably. Thus, reducing electricity bills will give peace to the people who are worried about the increase in bills.
India had banned the export of rice (and sugar) for some time. The defendant was that the price of rice should decrease in the local market. It was a voluntary initiative of the Indian government which was taken for the welfare of the people. Pakistan should also follow his footsteps. Foodstuffs that are produced in large quantities, it is possible to export them in adequate quantities. But the goods which are in short supply in Pakistan or their price is quite high, then exporting them just to get dollars will be an anti-people decision.
In the past few weeks, the price of sugar has gone from Rs 90 to Rs 150. Meanwhile, the export of sugar continued, which contributed to the price increase. If the government of Pakistan, like India, had banned the export of sugar, then the price would not have increased so much. It is heard that the price can even reach two hundred rupees per kg.
