The sparks he saw on the morning of August 8, they quickly set fire to the dry grass. As soon as he saw the fire, he informed the police and fire brigade. After six minutes, the workers of the two government agencies reached there and started putting out the fire. After half an hour of struggle, the fire was brought under control.

The danger became a reality

The second process was ongoing for the last two and a half years. Lahaina is located on Maui, the second largest island in the Hawaiian Islands. The island had received very little rain for two and a half years and was suffering from drought. The dry climate had sucked all the moisture out of the grass.

On the one hand, the terrible firestorm was moving towards the people of Lahaina, on the other hand, most people were unaware of its arrival. Eyewitnesses say that some men and women had been cheap in the afternoon. Some were planning to swim in the sea. Others were busy eating and walking in their homes. Therefore, everyone was engrossed in their busyness and unconcerned with the calamity that befell them.

"I didn't use sirens because they are only used during tsunamis," says the commander of the siren crew. If I had sounded the siren, people would have run to land, the fire, and I didn't want that.” However, the Hawaiian government did not accept this argument, so he had to resign.

Allah's warning

Most of the eyewitnesses say that when the fire came head on, they became aware of it. It was as if this natural disaster had taken the people of Lahaina by surprise, in a world of ignorance. This is the reason, hundreds of men and women lost their lives in its grip. When the fire subsided, it looked as if an atomic bomb had been dropped or a carpet bomb had been dropped on the area. Seeing the terrible destruction caused by this firestorm, Surah Al-Qaraa of the Holy Quran starts echoing in the mind:

"Rattle, what's that rattle?" And do you know what that rattle is? On the day when people will be like scattered butterflies. And the mountains will be like dyed and washed cotton. And whoever does good deeds, he will be in luxury. And whoever's deeds are reduced in weight, his abode will be Hawiyah. And do you know what it is? It is a burning fire.”

Some of the truths of the terrifying scenario depicted in this chapter are vividly seen in the videos of Lahaina that came out during the firestorm. The raging fire is attacking the humans and they are running around like butterflies. He whose deeds were heavy, he was spared, those who weighed less returned to the Lord Almighty. Allah Ta'ala, by His permission, showed the people of the earth a pattern of Hawiya, i.e. burning fire.

This blazing fire was so powerful that even the superpower with the best safety and security systems collapsed in front of it and appeared helpless. The administration was confused and did not understand what action to take. Such was the state of chaos that none of the fire warning systems could fully function. Very few people received the message notification. Similarly, contradictory statements were also issued on the websites. Therefore, the world's best security system proved to be a complete failure in the face of a natural disaster. The fire also rendered the hydrant, the water sprinkler system, ineffective.

The grass is always greener from the other side

This failure teaches an important lesson to us, the people of Pakistan, and that is that we consider the developed countries of Pakistan as heaven and the governments there are free from all mistakes and dutiful. But the heartbreaking Lahaina incident reveals that when a natural or unnatural disaster strikes, often even the best systems are unable to cope with the loss of life and property. As if the security and safety system is good and excellent, it is not an absolute guarantee of rescue. Death, when it comes, overtakes man everywhere, be it New York or Chuck 275.

The police could not remove this traffic jam and continued to watch the apocalypse that became a picture of helplessness. When the fire got closer, people jumped into the sea to save their lives. The sparks of the fire also burnt the boats parked on the shore. Even in the water it did not spare human life, the sparks burnt the bodies of many people.

Therefore, the Lahaina fire stunned the entire American nation and they did not understand what had happened. At the time of writing, 115 people have died in this tragedy, while between 1,000 and 1100 men and women, there is no information about what happened to them, whether they are dead or alive and in what condition. About six billion dollars were lost due to this.

 Conspiracy theories

The horror of the incident has also given rise to conspiracy theories. It was claimed that this fire was started by a group of Umrah with the blessings of the government. The goal is to make Lahaina a "smart city" where the government can track every resident's movements. However, the majority of intellectuals declared this conspiracy theory baseless. It was also claimed that the US government had tested a "secret weapon" in the region.

American intellectuals are appealing to their people to stop spreading conspiracy theories because their results are usually disastrous. For example, the former US President, Donald Trump, propagated the theory that the number of non-white nations in the US is increasing and they will take over the country. So, for the past few years, white fanatics have taken up arms and killed many non-whites. Also, bigotry is growing rapidly in America.

From the heart of the Lahaina fire came one of the greatest tragedies in modern American history. The stormy fire destroyed more than 2,000 houses. Most of the town was destroyed. The remaining houses will also be habitable only after repairs. Within a few hours, the Great Fire almost wiped Lahaina off the face of the earth.

A city without people
