For decades, governments have focused on using these sources to promote the production of cheap electricity. So that not only the domestic consumers but also the domestic industries can compete in the world markets by producing at a low cost, but progress in this direction has not been made with any systematic effort and regular planning.

However, in this context, this news is certainly welcome that the world's largest Chinese solar company Longji Green Energy Technology has been invited by the federal government to set up a manufacturing plant in Pakistan. Federal Energy Minister Owais Laghari, in a meeting with the president of the company, said in a briefing on Pakistan's solar energy potential that Pakistan is rapidly increasing the proportion of renewable energy in the energy mix. He said that the president of the Chinese company Cooperation has been assured for the promotion of solar energy in Pakistan and the Federal Minister of Energy has formally invited the Chinese company to set up a solar manufacturing plant in Pakistan. On the other hand, people across the country have started installing solar panels on their own to get rid of the expensive government electricity, and this trend is seeing continuous acceleration. Due to international reasons, due to the continuous reduction in the prices of solar panels in China for the past several months, the sales and installation of solar panels have increased many times across the country and the possibility of further reduction in their prices is clear, but the media According to the federal budget, in view of the news of taxation on solar panels, the traders have stopped the sale of solar panels or started increasing the prices and so far it has been increased at the rate of eight rupees per watt. The mentality is certainly condemnable, but the government should not take any steps that hinder the promotion of solar energy. 

The decision to tax solar panels will not be correct in any way. Instead solar energy should be encouraged as much as possible. There are also conflicting reports about ending net metering. If these reports are false, they must be refuted clearly and strongly, and if such proposals are under consideration, they should be rejected outright, because the generation of electricity from natural sources and getting rid of expensive electricity from IPPs is indispensable for our economic recovery. . With it, it is possible to reduce the cost of our industrial and agricultural production. Therefore, it is necessary to make rapid progress in this direction. Apart from solar, wind power generation projects should also be implemented in the public and private sectors because is a cheaper source than solar energy and it is possible to generate thousands of megawatts of free electricity by installing windmills in coastal and desert areas of the country.
