Apple iPhone 15: when will the iPhone 16 be out? Getty Images

hoax, and the reactions to itre
In September, Apple will surely release its next
iPhones: The firm has done this each September after the release of the iPhone
5, except for when Covid delayed it by a few weeks in the year 2020. But when
exactly? A new report published, and it pointed a specific time when the
unveiling would be done though it has been established that it was a fake
revelation. Now that’s the story of the fake leak and, setting aside the
discredited nonsense of the product recalculation theory, referring to what it
still teaches us in any case.

But before getting there, it is worth pointing out
that the supposed leak has stirred quite a hornet’s nest. Mark Gurman from
Bloomberg chimed into X with “1) Apple event invites do not leak in advance,
ever. That would practically be impossible. 2) Not particularly stunned this
got picked up by other publications. Far less surprised the author of the post
decided to run it as exclusive with zero verification and a presidential tone.”
I do not believe that Mr. Gurman is
attacking me, as my post, as you will be able to see above as well as below
this one, is to the effect that it is a fake invite, and what we can still
learn from it all. And I concur with him that it would have been wise to do so
(which is why I included the comment from @lorevfx, suggesting that they
‘mocked up’ the invite). And Majin Bu remains courteous in his replies: “Perhaps
it’s true that I am not very assiduous, but I have never aspired to authority
anyway: I simply post whatever I come across or is submitted to me and I
believe that they could be reasonable.”
And that’s what’s key here: , to be quite frank and
real with you, a leaked Apple invite, you know, was never a thing that could
have been possible. The text that would go on the invite is probably still
being fiddled with and is in the hands of a very small number of people at
Apple.
Anyway, here are the facts of what was posted online,
the things that were said that have no basis in truth, the true things, and the
state of things now.
1. The Leak
The information shared in the report can be traced
back to the quite active and often accurate leaker, Majin Bu, who said on
X that they had the leaked invitation to the next Apple event at which the
iPhone 16 will be unveiled. It was rather evident to me that the invite was not
genuine, but some of the content of the letter really looked bona fide.
2. The Invite
After that, there is a show of what the invite will
look like and as we have now seen @lorevfx has since come on X to take credit
for its creation. They said, “Fun fact: Cancel if you must, I made the ‘leaked’
Apple Event invite in less than 10 minutes using Figma and an AI-generated
texture and I sent it to the leaker just because I was bored.” Majin Bu has now
followed up with the rather gracious acceptance of being hoodwinked claiming,
“I appreciate your effort though, if you need someone for graphics contact this
guy.”
Though it was an appreciable-looking utensil, it was
not fit for containing water. Apple controls all aspects of such items as the
invite it sends out and it is almost impossible for this ever to leak.
3. What’s Plausible
Still, there are minor quirks that would appear to be
part realistic such as the slogan, ‘Ready. Set. Capture. ’ This would mean
that, as suggested, a Capture button is coming to the iPhone 16 series but it
feels like it locates things a bit much. There is also listed an option of a
Bronze tone which is expected to be one of the iPhone 16 Pro colors.
But there are some things that I think will be right
on the mark. First of all I am quite confident that the event will be live, and
the location will be the Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino. And this will begin
at 10 a.m., Pacific time. But I don’t believe anything else is correct.
4. Keynote Date
Now wait a minute, I hear you say. What will the
keynote speech be held? Everything is claiming what this invite does, that
it’ll be Tuesday, September 10.
That is quite possible but cannot be taken for
granted. I believe that there is a little more flexibility in terms of the
specific date on which the announcement was made. That is why I believe it may
be and yet it may not be, this due to the fact that all have fixated on
September 10.
5. Release Date
As far as I know, the release date is fixed to
September 20, whereas the keynote date might be either one day earlier or a
couple of days later than the September 10 expected by most people. We’ll know
soon.
