Balochistan is the largest mineral-rich province of Pakistan in terms of area, important geographical position and great historical heritage. Despite this extraordinary strategic, geographical importance and resources, Balochistan has been suffering from terrorism and other related problems for a long time. Instead of solving the problems of Balochistan together with all the stakeholders, the unilateral move of establishing the state writ has made the problems more complicated. The growing frustration among the people of Balochistan, especially the youth, is leading to hatred among them, which is dangerous for national security and the deteriorating law and order situation in Balochistan. The loss of confidence of the people of the province in the Federation is not a good omen for national security. In order to end the feeling of deprivation in Balochistan, it is the need of the hour to increase social relations based on mutual trust with the people and the influential classes there. The Baloch people have the first right over the resources of Balochistan. Following are some of the recommendations regarding the elimination of the deprivations of the Baloch people, the establishment of long-lasting peace and the solution of the problems.
All over the country, especially the people of Balochistan, should firmly
believe that the observance of the constitution, the rule of law in the country
is the responsibility of the state institutions as well as the people. It is
necessary to ensure the establishment of an impartial system based on
transparency for the implementation of law and justice. The right ownership of
the people of the province should be recognized over the resources of
Balochistan. The arrest of Kulbhushan Yadav is a clear proof that external
forces have been sponsoring terrorism by interfering in Balochistan for a long
time. It is necessary for the state, state institutions and the people to be on
the same page for this interference and terrorism.
The Pakistan China Economic Corridor project is indeed a game changer project,
as a result of which three provinces of the country are benefiting from long
motorways and other public projects, Orange Train etc. But in the center of
this important economic development project, Goadar and the entire province
does not have a single kilometer of motorway, nor any other major public
welfare project under implementation. This shortcoming should be realized and
eliminated without delay. This initiative of the government will be a means of
restoring the confidence of the people of Balochistan in the federation. In
this plan, the state's policy and strategy for Balochistan and the former FATA
should be fair and productive. There has been an alarming increase in the
incidents of target killing in various areas of Balochistan under the guise of
nationalism and regional prejudices. In recent times, the tragedy of Musa Khel
is very shocking. Such incidents are extremely dangerous for the state and
national security and also cause new dangers for nationalist parties and Baloch
youth. A strategy should be adopted to bring the effects of the horrific events
of 26th August 2024 in a positive direction with caution, wisdom and prudence.
There is a need to change the policy based on the unnecessary concessions given
in the past to Afghan refugees and trade professionals living in Balochistan
for a long time. Policy and actions based on wisdom and true national interest
should be implemented instead of running the affairs under the lack of wisdom,
haste and corrupt system. The confidence of the people of Balochistan cannot be
restored by mere superficial measures. Under the Baloch, Pashtun tribal system,
a step-by-step solution to the problems should be found through Jirga system.
The aggressive behavior based on misunderstandings during the period of
personal dictatorships and military rulers with the patriotic democratic
leadership of Balochistan should be stopped now. Pervez Musharraf should target
patriotic and democratic leadership like Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti. Incidents like
the killings added fuel to the fire. The illegitimate tactics and style of
politics to win the elections by rigging the favorite politicians should be
abolished and the people of Balochistan including the entire country should be
given the democratic right to choose their own leadership and the resulting
public leadership should recognize the mandate. should be done To restore
trust, it is necessary to recognize all centers of power. The people of
Balochistan are patriotic and have noble traditions. The honor and dignity of
the Baloch people should be destroyed and the confidence of the Pashtuns should
be restored. The intellectuals and political leaders of Balochistan should
bring together the determined and talented youth of Balochistan and take them
into confidence and solve the problems.
The gradual deterioration of the situation in Balochistan and the growing
disillusionment among the youth have given rise to many problems. The
repressive state policy has fostered a sense of resistance among the youth
here, prompting them to take their own path to protect their right to freedom
and dignity. Taking full advantage of this whole situation, the anti-national
elements have expended resources to inculcate the feelings of rebellion among
the youth here. On the other hand, the state is following the policy of
suppressing the people without distinguishing between right and wrong, which
has created a state of anger, anxiety and despair among the people of
Balochistan. Now is the time to reconsider this unfair and unconstitutional
practice. Historically, women in Baluchistan have remained separate from
politics and remained the custodians of their cultural traditions. But after
the tragic killing of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, women also appeared on the
protest scene. Then in Gwadar, women played a nuclear historical role in the
Haq Du movement and now women are protesting on roads and intersections for the
recovery of missing persons.
The
seriousness of the situation demands that the real problems faced by the people
should be properly understood and resolved at this time. Another very important
and noteworthy aspect is the process of establishment-led government formation
in Balochistan, which has rendered ineffective and irrelevant the entire
political, democratic process and governance of Balochistan. The youth of
Balochistan is conscious and democratic, he has no faith in the leadership that
protects the interests of the establishment and compromises the interests of
the people. Now is the time to restore the confidence of the youth of
Balochistan in the political and democratic process instead of mere show
actions and claims. In order to get out of the ongoing political and economic
crises in the country including Balochistan, the powerful and empowered forces,
the national political and democratic leadership should come together and set a
unified national state agenda and policy. A comprehensive plan for development
work in Balochistan, a comprehensive social educational development program to
restore the confidence of the youth there and concrete and sustainable measures
to implement it, we can get out of the circle of problems.
