According to educationists, trying to teach children in a foreign language is like hindering their ability to acquire knowledge. This fact should also be kept in mind that our national language has fully proved its importance on its own without any official patronage due to which most of the proceedings in our parliament and courts are conducted in Urdu. No English TV channel has been successful in the country and most English columnists have been writing columns in Urdu for decades. Making the national language the medium of education and the official language is also an indispensable requirement of our unified constitution and its delay for half a century is a serious violation of the constitution. The Supreme Court has also given a decision to make Urdu an official language immediately several years ago. So our policy makers should at least arrange for the constitutional requirement of implementation of the national language to be fulfilled as soon as possible now that policies are being reorientated in many cases.
