Control of Terrorism is Inevitable! IA Hashmi

The tragedy of killing at least 26 people and injuring 62 people in the suicide attack on the Quetta railway station yesterday has made the whole nation sad and worried that the whole country will have to take special measures to control terrorism. Despite the continuous operations of the law enforcement agencies in the affected provinces of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the sacrifice of the precious lives of our young men, why is the new wave of terrorism not under control for more than two and a half years? is coming The problem of terrorism is not new for the Pakistani nation, it has been going on for the past several decades, but after two major military operations in the last decade, the series of such operations was almost stopped, so it is important to find out the reasons for the resurgence of this fitna.

A strategy should be devised according to the requirements of the situation by analyzing with depth and comprehensiveness. After every new incident, mere condemnation statements of political and military leaders and declarations of breaking the back of terrorism can be a source of satisfaction for the nation only when there is a clear improvement in the practical situation from the steps taken to eliminate terrorism. Two months ago, in the meeting of the National Assembly, the Ministry of Interior, while admitting the increase in the incidents of terrorism in the country, said that a total of 37 hundred and 58 people have been killed in the acts of terrorism in the last two years alone, while from 2020 onwards, 12 foreigners have been killed in eight cases of terrorist acts against foreign citizens.

The details submitted by the Ministry of Interior in the meeting of the National Assembly on September 2 stated that only during the last year, the country A total of 2,075 incidents of terrorism occurred. From 2020 to 2024, a total of 62 people, including 12 foreigners, have been killed and 38 injured in eight attacks on foreigners. During the first quarter of 2024, 2208 intelligence-based operations have been conducted across the country, as a result of which 89 terrorists were killed while 328 were arrested. It is worth noting that despite such a large number of operations, there is no significant reduction in the incidence of terrorism. Is it possible to solve this problem by just using force or should the avenues of dialogue be kept open as in the past? need of The relations of many countries of the world including China, Russia, India, Iran, Turkey, Qatar are increasing rapidly from Afghanistan, but Pak-Afghan relations are under tension, while both countries have been at one time.

Was it correct to launch an unsuccessful campaign to evict 17 lakh Afghan refugees from the country within a month during the caretaker period or did we have to bear the loss? Abandonment has been helpful in solving the problem or the results have been the opposite. Should help be sought from China in ending Pak-Afghan tensions? The way positive results were achieved through talks with the Baloch resistance during Dr. Abdul Malik's Chief Ministership, can this not happen again? The situation demands that our political and military leadership formulate a better strategy to deal with the challenges faced in the light of these facts through wider consultation because apparently the current strategy is not proving fruitful.
