‘I saw her there the last of the sunlight by, a voice ringing loud and clear. ’‘Please come nearer, dear, and take me in your arms.’
I complied, I pulled her close and grabbed her hands,
an entwining our fingers together. Did you sit beside her? The heat from her
bosom warmed mine. Our lips touched and for a moment there was nothing which
existed in this world but us, our reality fading out for a second. It was its
euphoria, adoration, sensation the like of which was possible only in a moment
so intimate. We slightly disengaged: she had warm eyes; the green ones of the
sun that emerged from the spring.
‘’You were gone far too long,’’ she finally spoke,
‘’and I have been missing your touch.’’
I smiled a lover’s smile, my fast fading regret
transforming in a new born love that traversed me, a forlorn adoration reborn
from the depth of my spirit.
I smile blushing, “But what matters, Love, is that I
am here now, and I will be yours for eternity.”
‘Till the end of time,” she whispered into my ear,
giving me a warm hug with a twinge of emotion in her voice.
It was one of those behaviours that people sometimes
wonder the angels would do; the moment was suspended in air like the sweet
smell of flowers on the summer wind. Then there was once again that sudden
darkness like a flash which slices the nightmare and the feeling is gone. She
was gone.
When my consciousness came back the lengthening limbs
tingled with the accelerating blood and I forced myself to sit up. An ugly red
ray pierced my sleep-induced vision across the room as the electronic alarm
displayed the news to me.
3:00 AM
A bitter air came out of my throat, and then I shifted my gaze towards the side of the bed which was left vacant. Finally, my vision started to get used to the dark and to my surprise the picture frame was positioned upright and standing in front of me on the nightstand. I crawled up and down the bed and grasped the frame firmly in my little hands.
I embraced it gently as I
saw her therein, a woman with a beautiful smile and green eyes? I embraced the
picture and shed a tear as I recalled all the times she had appeared to me in
my dreams, only to disappear by dawn.
"Forever and always.

I caught my breath when I
saw him. The last time we met was way back, the reunion was as sweet as fine
wine. When I looked into his deep-set, dark brown eyes, I saw nothing else.
“Come to me, my love and
embrace me.” The words that came out of my mouth were full of happiness.
As soon as the words left
her lips, he pulled me into his arms and embraced me, weakly but tightly. I
interlaced my hands with his and accepted the kiss. All in that moment was
rapture. For a moment we bade each other farewell physically although our limbs
were still entangled.
I said, “You have been
away for so long, I have missed the way you used to touch me.”
He smiled as he always
have it, the smile that is both of boyish reverence and manly confidence. It
was a force that seemed to attract me to him like a magnet.
“What matters is I am here
now,” he whispered lovingly in my ear, “yours forever and always.
“Forever and always,” I
said.
When I went in expecting
another kiss, there was nothing but the blackness of the world between wake and
sleep. For a moment, I was lost and all alone and I reached out for the dream
the way I have done so many times before.
I quickly opened my eyes
and reached for the smartphone lying beside my pillow, the light on the lock
screen hurting my eyes. I felt a tear rolling down my eye.

Holding the phone close
for a while, I thought if I should call. In that instant, various things
assaulted my mind: enjoys unshared, looks unreturned, conversation unexchanged.
A few thousand seconds passed before I was to take any action.
Then came this resolution,
and I pulled out my phone and dialed his number.
