This
problem seems to be taking a psychological turn and causing social unrest,
which Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is certainly not unaware of the need to
quickly control. In the cabinet meeting earlier this month, Mian Shahbaz Sharif
said that without reducing electricity rates, exports cannot increase or
agriculture can develop. The fact is that the effects of the rapid increase in
electricity rates for some time are showing on the one hand in the mood of the
common people, and on the other hand, some news of suicides is disturbing.
Industrialists. are also feeling dissatisfied with the situation. Expensive
electricity is causing the cost of exports to rise day by day, affecting their
competitiveness in the international market, while some industries are rumored
to be moving to Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, even Jordan. Pakistan is the country
that in 1990, its export to GDP ratio was 14.8%, which was much higher than
China, India and Bangladesh, but due to the inattention of various governments
and the artificial control of the dollar, the exports were negatively affected.
Keep suffering. According to an estimate of the World Bank, Pakistan's exports
decreased by 58.2% to only 8.2% in 2017.2 percent remained.
Now, the
Prime Minister is determined to increase Pakistani exports to 30 to 60 billion
dollars in three years, so according to experts, he will have to make decisions
that can be called very big according to the current situation. The
determination expressed by the Prime Minister in the Cabinet meeting held on
August 13 and later in the address to the leaders of electricity distribution
companies to change the rotten country system is definitely the need of the
hour, but some aspects of the situation including the conditions of the IMF. It
is also equivalent to accepting a big challenge in the presence of Major and
urgent decisions were made due to the issues pointed out by the Prime Minister,
including the theft of electricity worth Rs. The need is being highlighted.
Mian Shehbaz Sharif's statement shows that the lines of the new plan are clear
in his mind. People expect that this plan will come out soon and do something
to alleviate their hardships.
According to reports, there is evidence of criminals moving
easily from one district to another, even provinces, after committing the
crimes, which reveals their activities. In the last few cities of Sindh,
especially Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur. For years, the reports of kidnappings
and other incidents and the links of the criminals behind them with street
bandits have spread fear and panic in the urban circles. It cannot be denied
that mobile phones have changed the working culture and social system in many
ways. It is also providing facilities for criminals, but in this advanced age
of technology, this facility can also turn into a roundup of them, which the
government machinery is well aware of. People become tools of terrorists,
realizing the situation, ensuring practical arrangements for its disposal is
the imperative need of the hour.
