ISLAMABAD
(News Reporter) The federal cabinet has approved the declaration of the Federal
Board of Revenue infrastructure as critical infrastructure under PECA 2016. The
temporary permit of international airline FlyDubai for weekly frequencies of
flights from Lahore and Islamabad to Dubai and from Dubai to Lahore and
Islamabad from January 4, 2025 to February 3, 2025. Prime Minister Shehbaz
Sharif has said that the United Arab Emirates has decided to postpone the
payment of 2 billion US dollars by Pakistan, which was due in January this
year, which is very welcome for our economy. Emirati President Sheikh Mohammed
bin Zayed has expressed his commitment to investing in Pakistan. Until the

available options with the provinces to reduce the price of electricity.

doing this. We have to use non-traditional means to increase exports. We will
not allow the Karam peace agreement to be sabotaged. We will end the heinous
business of human trafficking. We have to focus on export-based growth. The
economy is stabilizing. We will achieve our goal soon. He expressed these views
while addressing the federal cabinet meeting on Tuesday. He said that I
requested the UAE President to increase investment, to which he expressed his
commitment. I also had a one-on-one meeting with the Emirati President. On my
request, he has decided to postpone the payment of $2 billion, which is due in
January. He told the cabinet that last week, while taking an important decision
on the price of electricity, he said that it is the backbone for the
development of the economy. Unfortunately, it was ignored in the past and now
it has become a burden. There was not even a board of SMEDA, now the board has

collaboration with the provinces.
There
will be another meeting in this regard on January 15. The Prime Minister also
informed the cabinet about the visit of the Indonesian President to Pakistan
this month and said that an agenda is being prepared to increase trade and
investment with Indonesia. During the visit of the Indonesian President to
Pakistan, progress will be made in terms of trade in various goods including
halal meat, rice and edible oil. He termed the nefarious act taken to sabotage
the agreement after the peace agreement in Lower Kurram as regrettable. The
Prime Minister said that the government is working single-mindedly to prevent
human trafficking and will put an end to this heinous business. Meanwhile, the
federal cabinet has approved the appointment of the Federal Board of Revenue.
Infrastructure has been declared as critical infrastructure under COPICA 2016.

cabinet has approved the extension of the temporary permit of international
airline FlyDubai for weekly frequencies of flights from Lahore and Islamabad to
Dubai and from Dubai to Lahore and Islamabad from January 4, 2025 to February
3, 2025. The Prime Minister directed that 60 percent of all public sector
imports and exports should be handled through Gwadar Port without any special
arrangement in imports and exports. The meeting was further informed that from
January 1,From 2025, the use of paper has been abandoned for communication

The
implementation of e-office has been made 100 percent in 21

federal cabinet approved the signing of a memorandum of understanding on
cooperation in the establishment of textile parks between the Board of
Investment and Shandong Rui Group China, and the signing of a memorandum of
understanding between the Diplomatic Academy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of
the Republic of Serbia and the Foreign Service Academy, Ministry of Foreign
Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The
recommendations of the Cabinet Committee on Private Hajj Operators Court Cases
were presented to the federal cabinet. The committee has recommended that the
arrangements for Hajj 2025 will be made by the existing 46 organizers. The
committee has further recommended that a new Hajj policy be made for the coming
years. The federal cabinet has approved the recommendations of the said
committee. The cabinet has directed that steps be taken to bring all court
cases regarding private Hajj operators to a logical conclusion. The federal
cabinet has ratified the decisions taken in the meetings of the Cabinet
Committee on Legislative Cases on December 31, 2024 and January 1, 2025.
