Apple Watch SE May Come in Plastics and Bright Colors: By IA Hashmi

Apple may be thinking of the watch as a pre-smartphone training wheel for kids — the eventual market that could turn the Apple Watch into an enormous hit.

Apple may be on the verge of making the Apple Watch SE, modeled here, more appealing to different generations of the family.

Deciding on your that your kid is ready to get a smartphone is uncomfortable and challenging. Some people suggest that it can be done during the high school, and yet others are providing phones to pre-adolescents. For the last several years Apple has provided an option with Apple Watch for kids configuration that allows children to have communication capabilities on a wrist-worn device while not having full app access. Now, though, Apple seems to be getting ready to go even further in this direction.

The tech giant is mulling the use of casings made from plastic for the next generation Apple Watch SE, Bloomberg reports. It could possibly enable a better arrangement of colours, which could possibly make them ‘‘more kid-friendly’.

Apple declined to comment on this, although the company has lately integrated branding into its website promoting the Apple Watch as “a great call for kids.

The changes Apple made to the $249 Apple Watch SE to better sell the smartwatch as a device for families might represent yet another expansion of the Watch concept as training wheels for kids before they get their first smartphone. The Apple Watch SE has many of the features of the $399 model, while being significantly shorter, and slightly less capable than the more loved device. Yet, importantly, Apple does offer cellular data and phone call capabilities with the budget device, which goes a long way to support Apple’s marketing spiel of, “it’s independence for them. And peace of mind for you. “

Some 36% of teenagers in the United States own an Apple Watch, as revealed by a survey conducted in May by Piper Sandler, an analyst firm. According to CNBC, the wearable may provide an opportunity for students whose schools are now allowing smartphones on campus.

Apple has not stated when it plans to release another Mac device of the Apple Watch variety; however, the first generation came out in 2020, and the second generation was released in 2022, so a 2024 update should be expected. New versions of products are also expected, including a new budget $429 iPhone SE sometime at the next year.
