This
commitment of Army Chief General Asim Munir is indeed very valuable and in line
with our indispensable national need that the peace achieved by the great
sacrifices of the nation will be maintained at any cost. He said this in a
meeting with soldiers participating in anti-terrorism operations in Orakzai
district and Tirah valley yesterday. In his address, he highlighted the fact
that the sacrifices of martyrs strengthen our determination to fight with the
spirit of sacrifice. According to the Public Relations Department of the
Pakistan Army, the Army Chief was informed about the overall security situation
and the details of the ongoing anti-terrorism operations and was also briefed
on multilateral measures to ensure stability in the merged districts. According
to ISPR.
The Army
Chief appreciated the cooperation of police and law enforcement agencies in
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In a conversation with the officers and men, the Army Chief
expressed his satisfaction with the high morale of the men and their readiness
to respond effectively to all kinds of threats to defeat the nexus of the enemy
and its instrumentalities of terrorists and end activities in the illegal
sphere. The Army Chief expressed the need to increase the efficiency of the law
enforcement agencies, which is certainly the need of the hour. Our law
enforcement agencies undoubtedly need better equipment and advanced technical
training to deal with the kind of advanced equipment and weapons that the
terrorist's sponsoring powers are equipping them with. With the cooperation of
the country's political and military leadership, there should be positive
progress in this direction as soon as possible.
The army
chief also assured the Pakistan Army of providing all possible support to the
police and other law enforcement agencies of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which is
clearly needed in the circumstances. However, the fight against terrorism has
been ongoing for decades. The war has also revealed the fact that to
permanently deal with this problem, only countermeasures, i.e., the physical
elimination of terrorists and the elimination of their groups, are not enough,
but for this, it is also necessary to remedy the causes that lead to terrorism.
They lead to the birth of terrorism. Mere countermeasures prove to be effective
to the extent of the elements who become the tools of anti-national forces for
material interests, but the terrorist organizations and their affiliates do not
adhere to any formal thought and philosophy or the state. have legitimate or
illegitimate grievances of rights violations by them, they cannot be eliminated
by mere countermeasures because new ones continue to evolve from their
philosophy and thought.
In order
to end this terrorism, it is necessary to address the legitimate grievances of
the affected groups, for which the path of dialogue must be adopted. In
addition, the organizations that have come into being in response to the
aggressive actions of major powers in the past decades have given rise to such
terrorist groups that consider reforming Muslim societies through terrorism
instead of preaching and calling it a religious requirement. Their treatment is
also not possible with only preventive measures. For this, it is necessary to
correct the misunderstandings spread by their intellectual leaders in the light
of the true teachings of the religion. Although this work has been done by the
scholars in the form of their collective fatwas, but a continuous campaign on a
large scale for general awareness of these references.should be organized so
that it is clear about this type of terrorism that it is not meant to be taken
to heaven but to hell.
Diamer Bhasha Dam
Nature
has blessed Pakistan with vast water reservoirs, which can be harnessed to
generate cheap electricity and make millions of acres of barren land
cultivable, but we have not made any progress in this direction after the
construction of Mangala and Tarbela dams a long time ago. Kala Bagh Dam was
sacrificed to politics, if it was built, it would have been a great asset of
the country. The dole of Diamarbhasha Dam was poured, but it also fell victim
to poor planning. In 2020, the previous government started its construction in
a hurry, but neglected the aspect of financing. The problems increased, and the
estimated cost, which was estimated at 479 billion rupees at that time and 120
billion rupees spent on land purchase, has now increased to 1400 billion
rupees. Due to the delay, its expenses increased enormously. This is a key
project for water and food security of Pakistan.
A
high-level meeting was held yesterday under the chairmanship of Federal
Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal to review the progress on the dam. In which
it was emphasized to complete it as soon as possible. The meeting was attended
by the federal secretaries of the relevant departments and senior officials of
the institutions. The utility has already increased. It is not so easy to
provide resources for this, but in the national interest, the government has to
take necessary steps. Apart from irrigation and electricity, it can also become
a great source of employment. In this regard, in the country The decision to
build 32 new small dams is valuable, for which funds of billions of rupees have
been allocated. This dam will be built by the federal government.
It is
happening, there is no one to ask, while there is a complete machinery
consisting of police and court offices for the inspection of food items at the
provincial and federal level, the effective enforcement of the law and other
requirements, despite this, the citizens in the name of food and drink.
Incidents of playing with health come to the fore every day. The incident of
Khairpur is a case of murder, accident or any other case of death, it is
necessary to have a full investigation without delay and its report should be
brought to the fore and in case of death, the accused should be punished.
However, it is necessary to bring the culprit to justice.
